FITS osax provides an AppleScript interface to the FITS data format.
FITS (Flexible Image Transport System), a standard initiated by NASA, was adopted by IAU and is now used by many international data centers to store and provide data from space missions or from ground based observatories.
When this makes sense (for instance when reading a slice of a 3-d data array), the FITS osax returns quantities that SmileLab can plot directly.
